Meet USCG Master Capt. Rich Doherty

Growing up in New England, fishing and outdoors were not only a passion but an obsession. I was very fortunate to be invited to become a member of the famous Rod Jockeys fishing club (a sanctioned B.A.S.S. club). Through this club, I started to qualify for B.A.S.S. tournaments that led me to The American Bass Anglers circuit (I was hooked!). During the long New England winters, I would spend Sunday mornings watching my fishing idol, Mr. Flip Pallot. With his poetic tone, he would throw a lure to the mangroves in some remote area of Florida, and I would fantasize about fishing these waters someday.

Now I’m in some of the most famous sport fishing waters in the world.

I worked in public safety for over 25 years as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic/Rescue Diver. I have dive certifications through P.A.D.I. (Advanced Open Water) and Dive Rescue International as a dive medic. Whether it’s Bass fishing on Lake Tarpon or flats/inshore fishing for Snook, Redfish, or just enjoying our many species of wildlife,

“Its not ‘Are we going to have a good day?’ it’s ‘What are we going to do with this good day?’” -Flip Pallot

When you book with me, you will be fishing on a 2024 Beavertail Skiff (Mosquito).
